Licensing Class Day 4 and Internet Marketing

Scott Costello All, Blog 8 Comments

The 4th day of my real estate class dealt mostly with types of ownerships (Tenants in common, Joint Tenants, tenancy in severalty, Tenants in Entirety) and encumbrances (liens, easements).  I can see this information coming in handy when trying to work out proper ownership of a property and to understand what types of encumbrances can be on a property.     Time for a little teaching for those that don’t know the above terms… Tenancy in severalty: ownership of property by …

Because of the hacking, I had to rebuild my local blog as I didn’t have that one backed up.  Luckily the 4 articles that were written, I stored on google docs so I just had to copy them over. I’m back in business! Yesterday I wrote three more articles, Avoiding Foreclosure Scams, What to do if you owe more then your house is worth and Selling a Probated house. I really had to do some research on the Probate process …

Backing up the blog

After a little research I found a utility called winSCP.  The program syncs what is on your hosting service with a folder on your computer.   I’m going to set it up on my home computer and give it a test run for the next few weeks to see exactly what it’s all about.  It will be a great tool to have for any blogger if it works as advertised. Licensing Class Day 3 of my licensing class was pretty …

They Got Me Again!

Last night I settled down to my computer and had plans on writting an article or two for my “local blog”.   I typed the address realestateinnorthernjersey.com/…. to get to my admin page and I got a page not found….Hmmmm…that’s odd I thought. I then tried to view the site directly and I got a big “YOU’VE BEEN PHUCKED!” message.  Pannic sets in as I frantically check this blog and sure enough the same, I then checked all my other sites …

Where did the week go?

Last week was crazy as I tried working around my new schedule. With the real estate license class on Tuesday and Thursday I was scrambling around. Shockingly to me I’m actually finding the class quite interesting. If I took this class about 10 years ago I probably would have been passed out on the desk, but I guess with my increased age and interest in real estate investing this class gets me thinking. There was a discussion on one of …

So far I have 4 articles written and some ideas for a few others.  These are the topics to the articles I have written Selling FSBO How much is my house worth Foreclosure Options …

Did my offer get accepted?

Scott Costello All, Blog Leave a Comment

Got a reply from my realtor about my offer of 230k to 268 Malapardis Rd.  They rejected the offer but came back and said 320k cash could get it done.  That is about 25k less then the current asking price, but that is still to high for me.  I’m gonna see if they will come down more, I beleive the house can go for 425k to 450k all fixed up to an owner occupant.   My realtor seems to be able …

Scott Costello All, Blog 6 Comments

This past weekend was busy!  A lot of family happenings going on, from garage sales to going to a yankee’s game and running in a 5k.  I like these kinds of weekends because I get good family time in and that’s what it’s all about right? House #2 offer For house #2 I told my realtor that I wanted to offer 230k.  That leaves me 7.5k to move up if need be which isn’t a lot considering the homes value.  …

IM: Created the Local Blog

Scott Costello Blog, Internet Marketing 2 Comments

Last night I created the local blog for real estate. I’m still struggling with the content I’m going to put on it. Ideally it would be helpful seller tips with a slant towards getting them to contact me. My first two articles where about determining a value for a house and selling FSBO. After reflecting I would say I failed to really point the reader towards using my “service.” Writing about it now actually gave me a few ideas about …
