Can I do it?

Over the past month or so I have been falling in a bit of a rut, maybe it’s the summer that has caused my malaise.  I have still been getting out the direct mail and have been going out with my partner to put out bandit signs or driving for dollars but I feel like I need to step it up a notch.  It is time to push myself to the next level by setting some higher goals for myself.

Putting Together an average of 35 mailers a day (or 1050 this month)

I have been pretty consistent with getting about 100 mailings out every Friday which has gotten the phone to ring.  Unfortunately the phone rings most at the beginning of the week and tapers off quite a bit at the end.  My new plan is to send out mailings every Monday and Thursday so the calls come in consistently.

My plan of attack is to put together a set of mailers everyday (no more then 50 per day) and when a Monday or Thursday comes around stick them in the mail.  The consistent flow should help my partner keep up with the phone calls, but not overwhelm him by getting 20 calls in a day.

To keep myself accountable I am going to be putting up a counter on my blog that will be updated daily with my current status

Diva Money Club Challenge

About 6 months ago a few of my good REI friends, Shae Bynes, Steph Davis and Julie Broad joined forced with Susan Lyons to create Diva Money Club.  Part of there mission statement is…

…We help women create multiple streams of income… with Divatude.

We do this by providing training – both online and offline – specifically on real estate investing, online marketing, and Divatude (mindset and professional development).

We’ve been fortunate to experience the kind of freedom that we wish all Divas to experience… financial freedom and time freedom…

Even though the club is setup to help women, they also accept gentleman (Divos) join up.  As of Friday, July 29th I am an official Divo.

I will be putting out a one post every Friday that updates my progress and what the program is all about. This is the most important challenge for me because I truly want to eliminate my day job and I believe with the great people over at the Diva-Money-Club (affiliate link) this is a very attainable goal.

* Becuase I believe in Shae, Steph, Julie and Susan I signed up as an affiliate, so links to the Diva Money Club above are affiliate links.

Are you challenging yourself this month?

  1. Hey Scott … keep your head up and keep working it! I go through those times as well but for me it’s because I have too much on my plate and always need to re-align myself to my future goals. Just like anything we do in life, the more we do and adjust, we will get better and the same applies to direct mail. From my experience, it’s not the amount of leads but amount of “quality” leads that matters. Would you want 100 calls to make 1 deal or would you rather want 10 calls to get 1 deal. Getting 100 calls will be alot more work than getting 10 calls. Keep mailing, finetune and adjust. As to your question, I challenge myself everyday!

  2. Hey Scott….I usually find that I get in that “rut” in the winter. Ya know the whole winter blues thing…..but I think it’s important that we KNOW this so that way we can combat it.

You know what I mean? You know it’s going on so you’re able to do what you need to do to snap out of it. I know it happens to me in the winter time so I know that I need to plan for it in those months so I don’t even get into it.

I think you can do it. Good luck with exiting the rut quickly. Good luck with the DMC as well.

I’m not necessarily in a bad rut, I just like to challenge myself and I think I have with my two goals I set forth this month. If I just keep going status quo, there is no moving to the next level if you know what I mean?
